THE ZOM ZOM CHRONICLES CHAPTER 36 The Rolling Severance Package ```

1. The Underground Motor Pool

Apparently, the National Guard does not deploy M1 Abrams to deal with lactose-intolerant zombies at a football stadium. We stood in the cavernous, shadow-draped concrete garage of the stadium’s underground motor pool taking inventory.

Dave was finally awake, sporting a spectacular post-adrenaline hangover and complaining that his teeth felt like they were vibrating. Dr. Vance was clutching a portable cooler containing the last three neuro-inhibitor syringes.

2. Meet the MRAP

Sitting in the center of the bay, illuminated by shafts of dusty light, was a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle. It was a massive, six-wheeled, olive-drab fortress. Joe patted the heavy steel bumper with the reverence of a man meeting his idol.

Feature Standard Fleet Sedan The MRAP
Ignition Key fob & immobilizer Push-button and audacity
Tires Standard all-weather The size of dining room tables
Hull Design Crumple zones V-shaped, blast-deflecting steel
Corporate Utility Client lunches Hostile corporate acquisitions

3. Oil Pit Ambush

Before we could board, a rhythmic, wet scraping echoed from beneath a row of transport trucks. Three infected military mechanics crawled out from the oil pits, covered in thick black sludge, their jaws snapping in a horrific cadence.

We didn't even break stride. We were a well-oiled corporate machine now. Brenda executed a perfect bone-saw strike. Joe swung his pipe wrench in a brutal arc. Buster the dog pinned the third one to the concrete.

4. Boarding the Fortress

Dave immediately scrambled into the MRAP's passenger seat, claiming the role of "Communications Director" simply because he found a dead tactical headset.

Brenda took the commander's seat, her clipboard resting on the reinforced dashboard. Joe slid behind the massive steering wheel, flipping a sequence of toggles. The engine didn't just start; it roared, shaking the dust from the concrete ceiling as black smoke belched from the exhaust stack.

5. The Audit Begins

Brenda pointed her license-plate shiv toward the heavy steel garage doors leading to the surface ramps.

"Drive. Let's go audit a corporation."
