📋 Free Tech Checklists
Three simple checklists from AOP3D Tech. Print one, stick it on the fridge, and check things off one at a time. Big print, plain English, no jargon.
Each checklist has its own Print button — it prints on one clean page.
🛡️ 1. Senior Tech Safety Checklist
The everyday basics that keep you and your devices safe.
- ☐Use a passphrase, not a password. Four random words together (like purple-tiger-river-lamp) are easy to remember and hard to guess.
- ☐Use a different passphrase for your email and your bank than for everything else. Those two protect all the rest.
- ☐Turn automatic updates ON for your phone, your computer, and your apps — then let them do their job.
- ☐Make sure a backup exists. Your photos and contacts should be saved somewhere besides the device itself — ask us if you are not sure yours is working.
- ☐Know the scam red flags: a message that rushes you, threatens you, tells you to keep a secret, or sounds too good to be true.
- ☐Before you click any link in a text or email — STOP. Text someone you trust first and ask, "Does this look right?" That one pause stops most scams.
- ☐When in doubt, ask before you tap. There is no question too small — that is literally what we are here for.

🚩 2. Scam Shield Checklist
Five habits that beat almost every scam going around right now.
- ☐Never trust a link you were sent. If a text, email, or ad says "check your account" or "verify here," do NOT tap their link.
- ☐Type the real address yourself. Checking a campaign committee? Type fec.gov yourself. Voting questions? Type vote.gov yourself. Same rule for your bank's real website.
- ☐Check the sender independently. Look up the company's phone number, email, and address yourself — never use the contact details inside the suspicious message.
- ☐Hang up and call back. If a "bank" or "official" calls you, hang up and dial the number you found yourself. Real organizations are fine with this.
- ☐Pay by credit card. Credit cards let you dispute a charge if something turns out to be fake. Debit cards, cash apps, and wire transfers do not protect you the same way.
- ☐Gift cards or crypto = always a scam. No real company, agency, or official will EVER ask you to pay with gift cards or cryptocurrency. If they do, it is a scam — every single time.
- ☐Pressure is the tell. "Act now or else" is the oldest trick there is. Anything real can wait ten minutes while you check.

🪟 3. Windows 11 Readiness Checklist
Some versions of Windows 11 are reaching the end of their updates. Here is how to check yours and what to do.
- ☐Know the dates. Updates for Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro ENDED on October 13, 2026. Windows 11 23H2 Enterprise, Education, and IoT Enterprise get their final update on November 10, 2026.
- ☐Check your version. Open Settings → System → About and look at your Windows version number.
- ☐Back up first. Before any upgrade, save your important files — photos, documents, anything you would hate to lose.
- ☐Upgrade to 26H2. Go to Settings → Windows Update, check for updates, and install the 26H2 feature update when it is offered.
- ☐Plug in and be patient. Keep the computer plugged in and let the upgrade finish — it can take a while, and that is normal.
- ☐Stuck or not sure? That is what we are here for — a quick check now beats an unprotected computer later.
