When you bring us a computer and ask us to retrieve your files, you are trusting us with a big part of your life — your documents, your photos, your memories. We take that trust seriously. Here is exactly how we handle your files, in plain words.

1. We never open your files

During a data retrieval, we never open, read, or look through the contents of your data. Not your documents, not your photos, not anything else. Your files are your business — our job is to gather them safely, not to see what is inside them.

Because we never look inside, we honestly cannot know exactly what is or is not in any given folder. That is the trade-off of real privacy, and we think it is the right one.

2. We work by file type and folder size

So how do we find your files without looking at them? We sort and gather by two simple things: what kind of file it is — documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, pictures, videos — and how big each folder is. Everything is organized by type and size, never by peeking at the contents.

3. Big folders get gathered — on purpose

When a folder is large enough to matter, we include it in your retrieval on the assumption that it holds files you care about. The size of the folder is our signal. We would rather gather a little too much by size than miss something important — and we do it without snooping.

That also means we cannot promise that any one particular file is in the folder we hand back. Only you can spot that when you look through it — and that is exactly how it should be, because you are the only one who should be looking.

4. If something seems missing, we will help you look

After you have had a chance to look through your retrieved files, if something still seems missing, do not worry. We offer remote help: we can connect with you, search together, and talk through the next steps. Just reach out and we will track it down with you.
