🎁 Shopify Gift Cards: Sell More, Simply

The Steps, In Writing

Step 1 — Create the gift card product. In Shopify admin, go to Products → Gift cards and add denominations that match your price points. Enable the ones you want sold as a product, write a plain description, and add a warm featured image. Digital delivery is automatic — the buyer gets the card by email.

Step 2 — Feature it where shoppers decide. Add gift cards to your main navigation under a clear label. Pin a gift-card block on your homepage during gift seasons. Link it from product pages as the no-wrong-size option.

Step 3 — Make redemption effortless. Test the full loop yourself: buy a small card, receive the email, and redeem it at checkout. Note the code format and expiry behavior so your support answers are instant. A gift card that confuses the recipient costs you two customers, not one.

Step 4 — Track and learn. Watch cards sold by denomination (it shows your true gift price point), the redemption rate (unredeemed cards are interest-free loans, not profit to celebrate), and time to redeem (fast redemption means happy introductions to your store).

One small promotion that works: email past buyers a simple note — gift cards are available, delivered instantly, in the amounts people actually give. No hype, no countdown theater.

When did a gift card last save you as a shopper?
