The Great Apology Tour (And the Nightmare of Customer Service)
The apocalypse concludes not with a fiery battle, but with an awkward parade of deeply apologetic former monsters looking for ibuprofen and a toothbrush.
An Awkward Parade
Driving a six-wheeled, heavily armored MRAP down a mountain is usually an intimidating experience. Today, it’s a very slow procession. The barricades are covered in shivering, bewildered people waking up from a week-long, cheese-induced nightmare. Dave honks the horn to politely part a group of business executives in tattered suits who, only yesterday, were trying to eat the tires.
The Stadium Queue
Rolling up to the gates of FOB Echo, the terrifying horde has been replaced by a disorganized crowd of three thousand cold, wet, and embarrassed people. It looks like the aftermath of the worst outdoor music festival in history.
| Citizen State | Primary Motivation | Current Request |
|---|---|---|
| Yesterday (Infected) | Consume MRAP tires, chase postal workers | Brain matter, sharp cheddar |
| Today (Cured) | Extreme embarrassment and remorse | Ibuprofen, toothbrushes, apology sign-up sheets |
Bunker Operations Resume
Descending back to Level -5, the blast doors are open. Arthur the Coupon King is running the security desk, handing out standard-issue military towels (luxury bath sheets require a valid coupon). Meanwhile, former Quartermaster Sergeant Miller is pushing a mop bucket, living out his new reality as a demoted Sanitation Intern under Brenda's regime.
The New World Order
Brenda claps her hands, projecting absolute corporate authority. She announces that past zombie activities are classified as a "medical leave of absence" and will not count against permanent records. However, given the severe shortage of resources, everyone in the room is instantly conscripted as an employee of the FOB Echo Rebuilding Initiative.
Rebuilding & Next Steps
The apocalypse is over, and the chaos is slowly organizing into a functional society. Under Brenda's leadership, the new world will be incredibly efficient, highly structured, and fully documented.
- Operations: Anyone who can hold a hammer reports to Joe.
- Medical: Anyone with medical experience reports to a fully human Dr. Vance.
- Communications: Internet complainers report to Dave, who is already setting up a community message board.
- Animal Control: Mister Whiskers takes his rightful place on the security desk, demanding head scratches from a terrified Sergeant Miller.
