What Live Voicemail Does
When you do not answer, callers hear your greeting and start leaving a message — and your iPhone shows a live transcript on screen. If it turns out to be your doctor or your kid, you can pick up mid-message and talk normally.
Turn It On in 30 Seconds
- Open Settings, then tap Phone
- Tap Live Voicemail and switch it on
- Record a custom greeting in Voicemail, or keep the default
- Make sure your carrier voicemail is set up — Live Voicemail builds on it
Screen Smarter, Not Ruder
Pair Live Voicemail with Silence Unknown Callers for a two-layer shield: unknown numbers go straight to voicemail, and the transcript tells you instantly whether to call back. Legit callers leave messages; robocalls usually hang up.
Privacy, In Plain Terms
Transcription happens on your iPhone. Your messages are not sent away to be read by a server farm, which is exactly how call screening should work.
