Aim Settings Guide: Sensitivity That Fits
Your favorite streamer's sensitivity is tuned to their hands, desk, and ten thousand hours. Here is a 15-minute test to find the settings that fit you.
The Swipe Test (Controller and Mouse)
- Find your 180: in a practice range, adjust until one full swipe or stick push turns you exactly around — comfortably, not violently.
- Track a moving target for 30 seconds; if you keep overshooting, lower slightly; lagging behind, raise slightly.
- Change one number at a time, then play two full matches before judging.
Settings That Quietly Sabotage Aim
| Setting | Sensible Start |
|---|---|
| Deadzone | As low as possible without stick drift |
| Response curve | Standard or Dynamic — pick one and keep it |
| Motion blur | Off for competitive play |
| FOV | Higher for awareness, lower if targets feel tiny |
Display and network basics matter just as much — keep your setup lean with our Windows God Mode guide and your connection honest with Home Wi-Fi Rescue guide.
Lock It In for Two Weeks
Muscle memory needs consistency more than perfection. Write your numbers down (a backup habit, like Backups for Humans), keep them for two weeks, and only then fine-tune.
The Bottom Line
Do you play on high sensitivity for speed, or low for control — and did you choose it, or inherit it?
