  • Bits are not bytes: internet speeds are sold in megabits, but files are measured in megabytes. The widget does this conversion for you — it's why downloads feel 8x slower than the number on your plan.
  • Real speeds dip: a “300 Mbps” plan rarely delivers 300 all day. Knock 10–20% off for a realistic estimate during peak hours.
