iPhone Emergency SOS

Critical safety steps for your iPhone 16 Pro Max and other Face ID models.

Method 1

The Button Hold

Press and hold the Side Button and Either Volume Button simultaneously. Drag the slider when it appears.

Method 2

Hands-Free Auto Call

Continue holding the buttons past the slider screen. A 3-second countdown will begin before calling services automatically.

Accidental Trigger?

If the countdown starts, tap "Stop Calling" immediately. If the call connects, stay on the line and explain it was an accident.

Disable Auto-Call

Navigate to Settings > Emergency SOS and toggle off "Call with Hold" to prevent future accidental pocket-dials.

Location Tracking: When SOS is used, your iPhone sends a text with your current location to your Emergency Contacts automatically.
